Ethereum Layer 2 Token Launch Delayed: Blast Network Reschedules Event

by Ouess

The Ethereum Layer 2 network had initially planned to launch its token in May but has postponed the event to June 26.

Blast, the Ethereum Layer 2 network, has rescheduled its token generation event (TGE) and airdrop to June 26. Originally set for the end of May, Blast is compensating for the delay by distributing two additional allocations of Blast Gold, similar to points, to dApps and users.

As a result of the postponement, Blur, another project, is extending its Season 3 campaign until June 26, which was initially scheduled to conclude soon.

The delay in the token launch has led to a decrease in the value of many tokens and NFTs on Blast as the incentive to hold them diminished. However, following today’s announcement, tokens on Blast have started to reprice higher, as farmers are accumulating more tokens for their jackpot decks. There hasn’t been much movement on Blast NFTs yet, and it remains uncertain whether they will receive strong bids like the tokens.

Blast is currently the fourth-largest Layer 2 network with nearly $2.7 billion in total value locked (TVL), according to L2beat.
