Aave V4 External Curator Market Goes Live

Aave V4 launches its External Curator Market, empowering third-party managers to curate lending pools.

Aave V4 external curator market is now live on Ethereum. Specifically, institutional DeFi platform Sentora curates three isolated lending markets.

Users can borrow Ripple’s RLUSD, PayPal’s PYUSD, and Origin’s OUSD. They borrow against yield-bearing and blue-chip collateral. Consequently, this marks the first real-world deployment of V4’s Hub-and-Spoke architecture under external curation.

Why the Aave V4 external curator market matters

The Aave DAO approved this model through governance. Sentora has allocated more than $2 billion across on-chain strategies. Therefore, it operates three distinct markets.

The RLUSD Yield and OUSD Yield markets allow borrowing against USDe, PRIME, mWIN, and PST. The Bluechip market lets users borrow RLUSD, PYUSD, or OUSD against kBTC. Each market runs in isolation from Aave’s core pools. As a result, it contains risk to its own liquidity hub.

Sentora curates while the DAO anchors infrastructure

Sentora controls collateral selection and risk parameters. It also controls interest rates and oracle configuration within its hubs. However, the Aave DAO retains ownership of all underlying contracts.

Every risk-increasing parameter change passes through a 48-hour timelock. Additionally, new assets must clear an Aave governance review before listing. Therefore, Sentora curates, but the DAO anchors the infrastructure.

The markets are live now on Aave Pro. This builds on Aave’s push beyond monolithic lending. Earlier this year, AAVE price jumped 8% as Aave moved protocol IP under DAO control.

Institutional stablecoins find a new DeFi venue

The choice of RLUSD and PYUSD is notable. Both are regulated, institution-grade stablecoins pushing deeper into DeFi. Standard Chartered recently launched custody for RLUSD. Consequently, this underscores institutional appetite for RLUSD-enabled products.

Sentora’s deployment now gives that capital a structured borrowing venue. Meanwhile, USDT and USDC dominate the stablecoin market. Nevertheless, RLUSD and PYUSD are carving out niche utility through regulated pathways.

The OCC’s finalized GENIUS Act stablecoin rules take effect in January 2027. Therefore, that pathway becomes clearer for issuers and protocols.

Aave is also expanding the external curator model across chains. After Ethereum, the protocol launched V4 on Avalanche. That expansion targets institutional RWA and tokenized credit markets.

Key takeaway

The Sentora integration adds a specialized curator. It runs yield-driven strategies for sophisticated borrowers. For AAVE token holders, these hubs contribute revenue to the DAO. Therefore, this development is worth watching as new asset classes move TVL.
