LayerZero price rally continues as ZRO climbed roughly 41% over seven days. The token trades around $2.13.
CoinMarketCap data shows ZRO up about 11.8% over 24 hours. It gained 41.1% over seven days. The token has gained roughly 97% in 30 days. Its market cap stands near $845 million. Spot trading volume was around $172 million.
Why the LayerZero price rally matters
The rally pushed ZRO back above $2. It had spent much of recent months below that level. Its latest 24-hour range sits between $1.91 and $2.18. Therefore, the $2.18–$2.20 area is the first resistance test. After that, traders can assess a possible move toward $3.
ZRO now needs to clear $2.20
ZRO’s weekly structure improved sharply after July and August lows. Price trades around $2.10–$2.13 after reaching roughly $2.19. Bollinger Bands show the move developed quickly. ZRO trades above the upper weekly band near $1.84. The middle band sits around $1.08.
Trading above the upper band points to strong momentum. However, it can leave price vulnerable to consolidation. Weekly RSI climbed to about 67.6. That is below the traditional 70 overbought threshold. But it is close enough to show elevated momentum.
For the breakout to extend, ZRO needs support above $2.18–$2.20. A sustained break would leave $3 as the next psychological level. Failure to hold would put $1.84 back into focus.
Analyst Pentoshi described ZRO as a “great weekly chart.” He said fundamentals improved with ATLAS approaching. His comments are an analyst view, not a price target.
ZRO buybacks return as price moves higher
On-chain monitoring reported another LayerZero purchase on October 6. BlockBeats reported LayerZero bought roughly 162,000 ZRO. That is worth around $347,000. The reported cumulative total reached about 2.538 million tokens.
LayerZero’s own buyback tracker has not yet incorporated the transaction. The Foundation page lists 2,375,357 ZRO purchased. That cost basis is about $3.33 million through August. The additional purchase would bring the total near 2.538 million.
Existing purchases are tied mainly to Stargate revenue. LayerZero said Stargate revenue funds recurring ZRO purchases. Revenue from cross-chain swaps buys tokens on the open market. LayerZero has used buybacks before during weak pricing. In November 2025, LayerZero Labs bought $10 million worth of ZRO.
Not every on-chain movement points the same direction. On October 3, two addresses linked to a strategic partner transferred 8 million ZRO. That is worth about $14.98 million. The addresses sent funds to Coinbase Prime. A transfer to Coinbase Prime does not establish a sale. Coinbase Prime supports custody and institutional transactions.
ATLAS could create another source of ZRO demand
Attention increased after LayerZero introduced ATLAS in August. LayerZero describes ATLAS as a trading infrastructure system. It combines matching, clearing, settlement, and risk management. The product runs on Zero, LayerZero’s planned blockchain.
The fee structure gives ZRO a direct role. Trading venues using Open ATLAS can receive rebates from 20% to 65%. The rebate depends on volume and ZRO staking. After the venue rebate, 25% of remaining economics go to the market creator. 75% are allocated to buying and burning ZRO.
ZRO rose more than 16% after the original ATLAS announcement. LayerZero has not published a firm ATLAS mainnet date. Its website says “coming later this year.” Therefore, Pentoshi’s launch expectation is not a confirmed timetable.
Futures traders are building larger ZRO positions
The derivatives market expanded alongside the spot rally. CoinGlass shows ZRO futures volume near $308 million over 24 hours. Open interest is around $279 million. The derivatives price was near $2.11, up about 10.6%.
Open interest measures outstanding futures positions. Its rise alongside price shows traders adding leveraged exposure. However, it does not establish the next direction.
Recent liquidation data points to pressure on bearish positions. CoinGlass showed roughly $51,000 in short liquidations. Long liquidations were around $29,000. Binance accounted for most short liquidations. The amounts remain small compared with earlier events. So the move involves more than forced short covering.
The next ZRO unlock arrives on October 20
ZRO’s next supply event is scheduled for October 20. DefiLlama shows about 23.63 million ZRO unlocking. That covers core contributors and strategic partners. At current prices, the tokens are worth roughly $50 million. They represent about 5.9% of the circulating float.
The release includes 10.63 million ZRO for core contributors. 13 million ZRO go to strategic partners. LayerZero previously bought back 50 million tokens from early investors. That reduced the strategic-partner release schedule. A year earlier, ZRO faced selling pressure around its October 2025 unlock. Stargate-related buybacks were beginning to provide demand then.
What comes next for the LayerZero price rally
ZRO must clear $2.20 to extend the rally. A sustained break opens $3. Failure to hold puts $1.84 in focus. The October 20 unlock adds another variable. Derivatives activity could increase volatility. Therefore, traders should watch those levels and dates closely.
