Solana Anchorpoint HKDAP Partnership Brings Stablecoin

Anchorpoint partners with the Solana Foundation to bring the regulated Hong Kong dollar stablecoin (HKDAP) to the Solana blockchain.

Solana Anchorpoint HKDAP partnership is now official. Specifically, Anchorpoint will bring its Hong Kong dollar stablecoin onto the Solana blockchain.

Through the partnership, Anchorpoint plans native issuance and redemption. The goal is to support retail payments and tokenized asset transactions.

Why the Solana Anchorpoint HKDAP partnership matters

On October 30, Anchorpoint announced the collaboration. It is Anchorpoint’s first public blockchain foundation partnership.

Under the agreement, Anchorpoint will issue and redeem HKDAP directly on Solana. The companies plan near-instant settlement. This applies to payments and tokenized financial asset transactions.

Anchorpoint believes Solana’s wallet technology will help integrate HKDAP. It should work with corporate partners and consumer apps. However, the announcement did not provide a launch date.

HKDAP expands from Ethereum to Solana

Currently, HKDAP runs on Ethereum through a limited beta. That beta serves institutional and professional users. After final preparations, Anchorpoint plans to extend access to retail customers.

The Solana Foundation estimates about $4.9 billion in tokenized assets on its network. It also reported over 835,000 people holding tokenized real-world assets. Earlier this month, Securitize introduced tokenized stock trading on Solana.

Anchorpoint expands Hong Kong dollar stablecoin access

Anchorpoint received its stablecoin issuer license from the HKMA in April 2026. Standard Chartered, HKT, and Animoca Brands established it as a joint venture.

Each HKDAP maintains a one-to-one value against the Hong Kong dollar. The issuer backs circulating tokens with segregated assets. These assets stay separate from operating funds.

Currently, Anchorpoint distributes HKDAP through authorized partners. These include HashKey, OSL, and Standard Chartered Hong Kong.

Meanwhile, HSBC launched its RedCoin stablecoin through PayMe on October 23. That rollout targets PayMe’s 3.3 million users. Unlike HSBC’s private blockchain approach, Anchorpoint intends to expand HKDAP across public networks.

Solana Foundation joins tokenized money program

Beyond the blockchain integration, the Solana Foundation will join Anchorpoint’s Tokenised Money Adoption Programme. It joins as a strategic partner. PwC Hong Kong already participates. The program focuses on research, education, and industry collaboration.

Lu Yin is Solana Foundation’s Asia-Pacific head. He identified payments and tokenized financial products as potential applications.

Anchorpoint CEO Dominic Maffei said the company is developing an “open network designed to connect ecosystems.” The foundation plans a local presence in Hong Kong after joining the OASES program.

Key takeaway

The Solana Anchorpoint HKDAP partnership brings a regulated stablecoin to Solana. Native issuance and redemption are planned. However, no launch date was announced. Therefore, traders should watch for integration updates.
