Bitcoin ETF inflows reached $853.5 million in early August. This came from five consecutive positive sessions.
The demand reversed the previous week’s withdrawals. The streak followed a volatile end to July.
Why Bitcoin ETF inflows matter
U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs opened August with $170.1 million on Aug. 3. They added $211.5 million on Aug. 4. Inflows increased to $244.4 million on Aug. 5. This was the strongest session of the week.
The funds added $128.8 million on Aug. 6. They added $98.85 million on Aug. 7. The five-day total was roughly $853.5 million.
The performance represented a $915 million swing. The previous week saw $61.5 million in net outflows.
BlackRock accounts for most demand
BlackRock remained the largest source of new demand. IBIT attracted an estimated $693 million over five sessions. This accounted for roughly 81% of total inflows.
The fund added $86.71 million on Aug. 7 alone. Fidelity’s FBTC followed with $40.95 million. Bitwise’s BITB drew $2.11 million. ARK 21Shares’ ARKB attracted $1.94 million.
These allocations offset some outflows nevertheless. Invesco and Galaxy’s BTCO lost $19.37 million. VanEck’s HODL saw $10.55 million leave. Hashdex’s DEFI recorded $2.94 million in withdrawals.
Total assets and cumulative inflows
Net assets reached $79.50 billion by Aug. 7. This equals approximately 6.10% of Bitcoin’s market cap. Cumulative net inflows since launch stood at $52.18 billion. Daily trading value reached $1.57 billion.
August’s inflow total is nearly five times July’s full-month result. July attracted only $172.4 million. This August streak is about 395% higher after just five sessions.
Ethereum ETFs add $244.9 million
U.S. spot Ethereum ETFs also recorded a strong week. They attracted approximately $244.9 million from Aug. 3 through Aug.7.
The products began with an $11.42 million outflow. They then added $53.75 million on Aug. 4. They added $60.86 million on Aug. 5. Daily inflows increased to $92.15 million on Aug. 6. They eased to $49.60 million on Aug. 7.
BlackRock’s ETHA drove much of the demand. It collected $50.34 million on Aug. 5. It added $81.14 million on Aug. 6. It added $38.15 million on Aug. 7.
Total Ethereum ETF net assets reached $10.74 billion. This represents 4.65% of Ether’s market cap.
Bitcoin and Ethereum ETF combined
The two categories attracted nearly $1.10 billion combined during the week. This shows strong institutional demand for both assets.
Other crypto ETF flows remain limited
Smaller crypto ETF categories did not see comparable demand. HYPE products recorded modest positive flows. XRP funds finished slightly negative. Solana ETFs were broadly flat.
The differences show demand remained concentrated in Bitcoin and Ethereum. This was the trend during the opening week of August.
Bitcoin itself remained below $65,000 despite the inflows. The ETF demand supported the $64,000 area nevertheless. It had not yet produced a confirmed breakout.
