Bitcoin jumps on Iran Oman talks on Tuesday. Qatar confirmed negotiations over the Strait of Hormuz have reached an “advanced” stage.

Oil prices dropped sharply more than 2%. Hopes of de-escalation in the US-Iran war drove the move.

Why Bitcoin jumps on Iran Oman talks

Qatar’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson spoke on August 11. The talks between Oman and Iran have reached an advanced phase.

“We have heard positive feedback from both countries,” Majed al-Ansari said. Qatar will continue to support efforts for free navigation and de-escalation.

The Iran-Oman talks focus on safe shipping routes. Navigation arrangements and other related issues are also discussed.

Iran described progress as constructive. Nevertheless, full reopening depends on US de-escalation.

Pakistan steps in

Pakistan’s Interior Minister landed in Iran for talks. He will seek efforts to revive US-Iran negotiations.

Pakistan’s defense minister noted positive signals. Developments are “shaking up in favor of peace.”

The US-Iran talks have stalled previously. President Trump demands compensation from Iran. Iran is also demanding compensation for war damage.

Bitcoin climbs as oil prices fall

Oil prices hit over $84.5 earlier today. Nevertheless, Qatar and Pakistan’s comments eased concerns. Oil fell back below $82 per barrel.

US stock futures rebounded on the news. S&P 500 and Nasdaq futures showed modest gains.

Bitcoin price jumped 0.80% within hours and then it dipped again. The price currently trades near $63,547. The 24-hour low was $63,500. The high reached $65,172.

Trading volume increased by 42% over 24 hours. This indicates traders remain interested in Bitcoin.

White House stance on Clarity Act

White House Crypto Advisor Patrick Witt commented. The Trump admin remains “fully committed” to passing the Clarity Act in September.

Nevertheless, Polymarket data shows skepticism. Prediction market participants give only 22% Yes odds. 78% say No to passage this year.
