Binance resumes withdrawals after a major hack of about $6.3 billion. Specifically, the exchange reopened its Bitcoin network first.

The crypto exchange had suspended user withdrawals after Thursday’s attack. The FBI blamed North Korean operatives for the breach.

“First batch network now opened in phase one of withdrawals is $BTC bitcoin network,” Binance said on X.

Why Binance resumes withdrawals in phases

In an earlier Sunday announcement, Binance said it would roll out withdrawals in phases. Therefore, services will become progressively available. Updates will appear on its official X channel.

“We are taking a phased approach by prioritizing tokens based on past week user demand,” Binance said. This lets each network and asset pair restore carefully. Stability and security checks must complete before access reopens.

Users should check the withdrawal page for their asset and network. They can also visit the Binance network status page to confirm availability.

Congestion and delays expected

Binance warned of some congestion during the phased rollout. Longer processing times and temporary delays are possible. Therefore, if a withdrawal fails, users should try again after a short while.

Key takeaway

Binance resumes withdrawals with Bitcoin first. The process will continue in phases. Therefore, users should check official channels for updates. Meanwhile, the exchange continues replenishing assets.
