BitMine buys ETH again last week. The company added 32,447 tokens to its treasury.
Total holdings now stand at 5,847,611 ETH. This represents roughly 4.8% of Ethereum’s circulating supply.
Why BitMine buys ETH near 5% target
BitMine has acquired ETH every week since June 30, 2025. The buying streak now extends to roughly 14 months. The company is now 97% of the way to its stated goal.
Its NYSE-traded shares were up about 8.7% to open the week. They are poised to extend their almost 28% gains over the past six months.
BitMine has staked 5.07 million ETH. This represents about 87% of its holdings. The company reported combined crypto, cash, securities, and other investments of $14.9 billion.
Ether price rebound cuts BitMine’s paper losses
The latest purchase coincided with a sharp rally across Ether and the broader market. ETH has outperformed Bitcoin since last Wednesday. The US Treasury announced plans to double monthly purchases of longer-dated Treasurys. The amount will rise from $2 billion to $4 billion beginning next month.
Ether has gained more than 32% since the announcement. It broke above $2,500 for the first time since January. CoinMarketCap data confirms this surge.
BitMine’s aggressive purchases during the downturn left the company with steep unrealized losses. ETH prices continued to fall during that period. Nevertheless, the cryptocurrency’s recent recovery has significantly narrowed that shortfall.
BitMine has invested more than $19.5 billion in its Ether treasury. Paper losses have fallen to below $5 billion. This is down from more than $8.4 billion roughly a week ago. DropsTab data confirms these figures.
The sharp swings highlight the challenges of managing digital asset treasuries. Valuations can fluctuate significantly with changing market conditions.
