Circle Chelsea USDC Sponsorship Debuts on Kits

Circle Chelsea USDC sponsorship is now official. The stablecoin issuer signed a principal partnership with Chelsea Football Club.

The deal puts USDC branding on the front of the club’s shirts. This covers men’s, women’s, and academy teams for the 2026/27 season.

Why Circle Chelsea USDC sponsorship matters

Chelsea announced the agreement on August 28. Circle becomes the Official Front of Shirt Partner. The branding will make its Premier League debut on Sunday. Chelsea men’s first home match is against Brighton.

Circle issues USDC and operates financial infrastructure. The company described the deal as a way to introduce USDC to a global sports audience. Stablecoins are gaining use outside crypto trading.

CEO Jeremy Allaire said USDC was built around global money movement. “Partnering with Chelsea connects us with a global sports community,” he said.

Chief Commercial Officer Kash Razzaghi highlighted Chelsea’s international audience. He described the partnership as a public representation of Circle’s approach.

Chelsea’s digital asset ties continue

The agreement follows BingX’s partnership with Chelsea in 2024. BingX served as the club’s Official Men’s Training Kit Partner. Research shows crypto companies struck 33 football sponsorship deals since 2021. European clubs account for much of this activity.

Circle’s USDC expansion in 2026

Circle renewed its USDC agreement with Coinbase earlier this month. The deal extends through 2029. USDC circulation stood at $73.3 billion at the end of Q2. This is up 19% from the same period a year earlier. Circle reported $701 million in quarterly revenue.

Coinbase held about 30% of circulating USDC on its platform. Circle said it plans to prioritize investment over dividends.

The company secured a New York trust charter on July 31. This followed federal authorization from the OCC. Circle said the charter extends its regulatory relationship with NYDFS.

Circle also pursued distribution through traditional payment companies. JCB signed an agreement to test USDC payments in Japan. The first stage focuses on internal cross-border treasury transfers.

Chelsea sees Circle deal as digital strategy

President Jason Gannon said the club views the partnership as part of its digital work. “We are two organisations fixated by the future,” he said.

Circle’s branding will extend to Chelsea Women. The team is playing its inaugural season at Stamford Bridge. Academy shirts are also covered by the partnership.

President of Commercial Todd Kline said both organizations share an interest in building global reach. “Circle is changing how money moves around the world,” he said.

For Circle, the shirt sponsorship moves USDC into a consumer-facing setting. Recent expansion focused on financial institutions and payment infrastructure.

BNY enabled institutional customers to mint and redeem USDC in June. Standard Chartered followed with a similar service in July.

Chelsea’s men’s team will wear the Circle branding for the first time on Sunday. The sponsorship covers men’s, women’s, and academy shirts throughout the season.
