SubQuery Network Introduces Decentralized RPCs for Polkadot and Kusama

Web3 infrastructure provider SubQuery Network has unveiled two new decentralized RPCs for the Polkadot ecosystem, marking a significant milestone as the first decentralized RPCs on Substrate-based networks. These RPCs are now available for both Polkadot and Kusama.

SubQuery supports nearly 200 networks with its web3 infrastructure, operating through a globally distributed network of decentralized indexers and RPC providers. This setup ensures dapps can access fast, reliable blockchain data without centralized control points. Teams building on Polkadot and Kusama can now take advantage of SubQuery’s decentralized RPC (Remote Procedure Call) nodes.

James Bayly, COO of SubQuery, expressed enthusiasm about the launch: “We are thrilled to be the first to provide decentralized RPCs for Polkadot on the SubQuery Network. Our node operators, already active across multiple ecosystems, are well-positioned to support Polkadot developers with their infrastructure needs.”

The newly deployed RPCs for the Polkadot relay chain and Kusama are managed by over 30 independent Node Operators. Decentralized RPCs are crucial for blockchain projects, enabling efficient operation and multi-source data access.

RPCs are essential for communication between blockchain nodes and external entities, facilitating data retrieval, smart contract interactions, and transaction submissions. By providing decentralized RPCs, SubQuery Network reduces reliance on centralized middleware, mitigating associated risks. This advancement supports secure, efficient web3 communication and underpins the robust and transparent operations essential for the success of DePINs (Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Networks).

SubQuery originated within the Polkadot ecosystem, initially releasing an indexer capable of connecting to its unique multi-chain architecture. Since then, it has expanded to support hundreds of networks, establishing itself as a leading indexer of web3 data.
