Crypto influencer Ben Armstrong, widely known as BitBoy, has once again landed in legal trouble. On March 25, 2025, authorities in Volusia County, Florida, arrested Armstrong for allegedly sending threatening emails to a judge.

Why Was Ben Armstrong Arrested?
According to the Volusia County Division of Corrections, Armstrong is classified as a fugitive from justice and is currently being held without bail.
Days before his arrest, Armstrong himself revealed his legal issues on social media. On March 21, he posted on X (formerly Twitter) that warrants had been issued against him. The charges stem from emails he sent to Cobb County Superior Court Judge Kimberly Childs while representing himself in legal proceedings.
In his post, he called Judge Childs “dishonorable” and claimed she deleted her Twitter account after receiving his messages.
Armstrong’s History of Legal Troubles
This isn’t Armstrong’s first arrest. In September 2023, he was detained in Gwinnett County, Georgia, after livestreaming a confrontation outside a former business partner’s home. Armstrong accused the associate of withholding his Lamborghini and was later charged with loitering, prowling, and simple assault.
Beyond arrests, Armstrong has faced lawsuits. In March 2023, he was named in a $1 billion class-action lawsuit for allegedly promoting unregistered securities through Binance. The lawsuit also named NBA star Jimmy Butler and crypto influencer Graham Stephan.
Fall from Grace in the Crypto Community
Once a major voice in the crypto space, Armstrong built a massive following through his BitBoy Crypto YouTube channel. He provided market analysis, news, and investment advice, gaining a dedicated audience. However, his reputation has suffered due to substance abuse allegations, erratic behavior, and legal issues.
In August 2023, Armstrong was removed from the BitBoy Crypto brand by its parent company, BJ Investment Holdings, due to concerns over his actions.
Authorities have yet to disclose the exact contents of Armstrong’s emails to Judge Childs. However, given his past controversies, his legal battles may not be over anytime soon.
