Binance has announced a short maintenance window for the BNB Smart Chain (BSC), scheduled for April 17. During this period, all deposits and withdrawals involving BEP-20 tokens will be temporarily paused.

Deposits and Withdrawals to Pause Briefly
According to Binance, the wallet maintenance starts at 06:00 UTC, but deposits and withdrawals will pause five minutes earlier, at 05:55 UTC.

The downtime is expected to last around one hour, though Binance noted it will only resume services when the network is confirmed stable. There is no set end time.
Trading Activities Will Continue Unaffected
Good news for traders—BNB and BEP-20 token trading will remain live throughout the update. Only deposit and withdrawal functions will be limited.
Binance has assured users that no action is needed on their part. The platform will manage all technical processes. However, users are advised not to initiate transfers shortly before or during the maintenance to avoid delays.
BNB Smart Chain Remains a Key Player
Formerly known as Binance Smart Chain, BNB Smart Chain continues to be one of the busiest blockchain networks. It uses the BEP-20 token format, similar to Ethereum’s ERC-20 standard.
As of now, the BSC network hosts over $5.14 billion in total value locked, according to DeFiLlama. It supports more than 1,500 decentralized apps (dApps) and serves over 1 million active addresses.
In the past 24 hours alone:
- $667 million was traded via decentralized exchanges
- $613,348 in network fees was collected
These numbers highlight the chain’s ongoing popularity and activity despite current market fluctuations.
Binance Continues to Expand Offerings
Beyond maintenance, Binance is preparing to launch a new product, LDUSDT, which will allow users to trade crypto futures while earning on locked USDT holdings.
Meanwhile, Binance whales have stayed calm amid recent U.S.-based ETF outflows, showing strong internal confidence in the platform.
Stay Updated During Maintenance
Binance will not issue another notification once wallet functions resume. Instead, users should monitor Binance’s official channels for real-time updates.
As always, staying informed helps users manage their crypto assets safely during these technical updates.
