RealFi Cardano stablecoin deposits now have a prediction market on Bodega. Users can bet whether USDrf reaches $1 million in deposits on Strike Finance.
Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson called for the bet. Meanwhile, the Strike market lists a yield near 50%. However, the yield-bearing token absorbs portfolio losses first.
Why the RealFi Cardano stablecoin bet matters
RealFi issues USDrf, a dollar-pegged token. The team backs it with off-chain real-world assets. Specifically, direct lending to businesses forms the portfolio core. Treasury bills and floating-rate bonds also support it.
Holders can stake USDrf for sUSDrf. Its value moves with that portfolio. According to RealFi’s GitHub code submission, protocol reserves take losses first. After that, sUSDrf holders absorb losses.
Strike Finance is a Cardano perpetual futures exchange. It also lets users borrow against deposited assets. It now accepts sUSDrf as collateral. Its dashboard listed a 49.31% APR. That market had roughly $119,200 in loans backed by the token.
By comparison, three-month US Treasury bills yielded about 4.3% on October 15. Federal Reserve data confirms this. Strike also allows a maximum loan-to-value ratio of 100%. Therefore, users can borrow the collateral’s full value.
Nevertheless, RealFi’s website does not explain how the yield is generated.
Why bettors now track a single vault
On October 17, Strike said its vault held close to $100,000 of the token. Within an hour, it reported another $50,000 in deposits. Meanwhile, Strike’s own token trades roughly 77% below its August 2025 record high.
Hoskinson then asked who would list a market on the vault hitting $1 million. He tagged Bodega, which calls itself Cardano’s prediction market. Later, Bodega confirmed the market was live.
Still, ownership remains concentrated. On October 8, one holder controlled about 66% of RealFi’s staking vault. The GitHub filing shows that vault held roughly 2.58 million USDrf. Therefore, a $1 million mark on Strike would place a large share of supply on one outside app.
Beyond one vault, Cardano is courting regulated finance. It is advancing a new token compliance standard. It is also building partnerships in Brazil. Consequently, the $1 million bet tests whether deposits keep growing at current yields. It also shows whether deposits spread beyond a few large holders.
