The decentralized Grass Network, known for rewarding users who share unused internet bandwidth, has announced its highly anticipated GRASS Airdrop One. The airdrop is set for October 28, 2024, at 13:30 UTC and will reward early contributors to the network.
Airdrop Details and Eligibility Criteria
In a post on X, Grass Network shared that GRASS Airdrop One is a pivotal move toward creating the first user-owned internet map. The airdrop will distribute 10% of the total GRASS supply (100 million GRASS tokens) to early supporters based on a few eligibility requirements.
To qualify, users must:
- Have accumulated 500 or more Grass Points in any epoch.
- Linked their wallet to the Grass dashboard by October 14, 2024, at 20:00 UTC.
The allocation is broken down as follows:
- 9% to users earning Grass Points during Stage 1 (Network Snapshot).
- 0.5% to holders of GigaBuds NFTs.
- 0.5% to users who installed either the Desktop Node or Saga Application.
Each eligible user’s reward will be based on the Grass Points they earned. The airdrop distribution will differ based on the user’s location.
Reward Structure and GRASS Token Usage
For GRASS token holders, these tokens offer multiple ways to engage with and contribute to the Grass Network, including:
- Staking and network security: Users can stake tokens to support network infrastructure.
- Participation in governance: Holders can vote on essential network decisions.
- Contribution rewards: Tokens are also offered for contributions to network growth.
Additionally, 4,996,015 GRASS tokens will be distributed evenly across GigaBuds NFTs, with each eligible NFT wallet receiving 515 GRASS tokens per GigaBud NFT held (excluding those listed for sale at the snapshot time).
