Empowering Onchain Sports Prediction Markets: The Azuro-Chiliz Partnership

Azuro, a key player in onchain predictions liquidity, and Chiliz, a prominent blockchain platform for sports and entertainment, are teaming up to boost the adoption of onchain sports prediction markets.

This collaboration aims to provide millions of fans worldwide with fair and transparent prediction apps, allowing them to show even greater support for their beloved teams and athletes.

Chiliz Chain is renowned for its blockchain solutions that revolutionize fan engagement in sports through features like fan tokens and interactive platforms. Through its flagship platform Socios.com, Chiliz Chain has expanded significantly, supporting over 80 sports-related fan tokens and serving more than 2 million ecosystem users. Notably, Chiliz Chain backs team-specific fan tokens for leading football clubs such as FC Barcelona, Inter Milan, Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester City, among others, through Socios.

The network operates on a Proof of Staked Authority (PoSA) consensus algorithm, enabling active interaction with the chain by smart contract developers, validators, stakers, and other stakeholders. Chiliz Chain is designed to fuel sports and entertainment applications with a focus on brand IP and maintaining project integrity.

For Chiliz, joining forces with Azuro is a strategic move towards tapping into the rapidly expanding onchain prediction markets. Azuro’s innovative liquidity pool design, advanced tooling, and oracle solutions empower apps to launch without upfront investment or operational costs, allowing them to concentrate on user acquisition, engagement, and monetization from the get-go.

Azuro’s robust platform, boasting over 25 active applications and transaction volumes exceeding $290 million, provides an ideal environment for Chiliz to extend its reach in the sports and entertainment sectors.

As part of their collaboration, Chiliz will integrate into the Azuro Protocol, alongside existing supported chains like Polygon and Gnosis Chain. This integration will enable Chiliz to broaden its presence within sports-focused prediction applications. Developers relying on Azuro infrastructure can seamlessly connect their apps to Chiliz Chain, allowing users to transact with the blockchain’s native token CHZ.

Alexandre Dreyfus, CEO of Chiliz and Socios.com, emphasized the significance of integrating with Azuro to capitalize on the expanding onchain prediction market. Rossen, a core contributor at Azuro, highlighted the natural synergy between onchain prediction markets and the sports and entertainment sector, making collaboration with Chiliz Chain a logical step forward.

Looking ahead, Azuro and Chiliz will soon launch a joint grants program to incentivize app developers to build on their combined infrastructure. These initiatives, including bounties for the first apps, aim to drive further adoption of onchain prediction markets, aligning with Azuro’s vision of setting new transparency and fairness standards.
