Elon Musk’s Crypto Enigma: Tweets, Memes, and the Altcoin Connection

by Ouess

Elon Musk, the head honcho of Tesla, SpaceX, and a string of other innovative ventures, as well as the owner of X/Twitter, remains connected with the cryptocurrency world. While he’s a big supporter of Dogecoin, his tweets often draw attention from various other crypto communities, including XRP, Shiba Inu, Bitcoin, and more.

Recently, Musk sent out a cryptic tweet featuring a series of “1” symbols along with his X platform logo formed by “8” digits and a few closing words. The whole message could be deciphered as “X is a prime, with 1800 digits.” This sparked a spirited response from representatives of different coin communities.

The crypto army eagerly responded to Musk’s tweet. Even Billy Markus, known as “Shibetoshi Nakamoto” on Twitter and the co-founder of Dogecoin, chimed in with a comment about artificial intelligence.

Despite the efforts of various crypto-themed accounts vying for his attention, Musk seems uninterested in altcoins, maintaining his preference for Dogecoin. He has previously revealed his crypto holdings, comprising Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Dogecoin, with a particular affinity for DOGE, often hailing it as “the people’s currency” and sharing memes related to Dogecoin. While his tweets used to have an immense impact on Dogecoin’s value, that influence has waned over time, resulting in only short-lived effects. Aside from vocal support on Twitter, Musk has also integrated Dogecoin as a payment option for Tesla and SpaceX merchandise purchases.

Recently, Ripple’s chief technology officer, David Schwartz, mentioned Musk in a tweet, humorously suggesting Musk’s vast wealth could allow him to give $1 million to every person on Earth and still have plenty left. This move aimed to test the “Community Notes” feature on X/Twitter, as explained by Schwartz.
