Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang believes AI agents represent the next major leap in workforce evolution. Speaking at CES in Las Vegas on January 6, Huang described AI agents as “autonomous digital workers” capable of performing specialized tasks alongside human employees.
He emphasized their potential to streamline operations and improve efficiency across industries, calling them a “multi-trillion dollar opportunity.”
Nvidia’s AI Innovations
At CES, Nvidia introduced several groundbreaking AI technologies to support the adoption of AI agents:
- Llama Nemotron: A large language model designed to help developers create and deploy AI agents.
- Project Digits: A personal AI supercomputer aimed at enhancing AI development.
- Video Analytics Agent: An AI-powered tool that analyzes video content 30 times faster than real-time, making it invaluable for sports, entertainment, and other industries.
Huang demonstrated the video analytics agent during his keynote, comparing the pitching skills of an amateur baseball player to a professional.
The Role of IT in Managing AI Agents
Huang envisions a future where IT departments evolve into HR teams for AI agents. These departments will oversee the training and integration of AI agents, much like onboarding human employees. “The IT department of every company is going to be the HR department of AI agents in the future,” he noted.
AI agents are not just tools but autonomous digital workers trained for specific tasks. They can tackle complex or time-consuming challenges, supporting human employees in various industries.
AI Agents and the Crypto Boom
Huang’s insights come as AI agents gain traction in the crypto space. The market capitalization of AI agent-related coins rose by 5.1% in the past 24 hours. Since late 2024, AI agents have been a driving force in crypto trends.
Haseeb Qureshi, founder of Dragonfly, also highlighted the transformative potential of AI agents in his 2025 predictions. He believes they are set to revolutionize both industries and the crypto ecosystem.
