TRON has announced a strategic partnership with Chainlink, adding Chainlink’s trusted data feeds to its DeFi infrastructure.
This collaboration represents a significant upgrade, designed to enhance the security and reliability of TRON’s decentralized finance (DeFi) offerings.
How Chainlink Data Feeds Benefit TRON DeFi
Chainlink’s data feeds are essential for delivering accurate, tamper-resistant price data to decentralized applications (dApps). TRON’s largest DeFi platforms, including JustLend and JustStable, now have access to secure off-chain data to support safe transactions and settlement of smart contract.
During the recent SmartCon 2024 event, Chainlink revealed that its Data Feeds protect tens of billions of dollars in total value locked (TVL) across DeFi protocols and have powered over $16 trillion in blockchain transactions. Justin Sun, TRON’s founder, shared his excitement, noting this move will support over $6.5 billion in TRON’s TVL.
New Oracle Solution Replaces WINkLink
This integration replaces TRON’s previous oracle, WINkLink, with Chainlink’s proven infrastructure. Known for its security and accuracy, Chainlink’s solution safeguards smart contracts from manipulation risks by delivering essential price data.
TRON joins other major blockchains adopting Chainlink’s oracles, enabling secure access to external data sources. The move aligns with TRON’s efforts to establish itself as a leading player in DeFi while focusing on innovation despite past challenges linked to regulatory scrutiny.
Chainlink’s SCALE Program Lowers Costs for Developers
Through Chainlink’s SCALE program, TRON aims to ease entry for developers by initially covering operational costs, including transaction fees for Chainlink oracles. This subsidy will remain until dApp usage is sufficient to cover these costs, reducing barriers for developers and promoting innovation within the TRON ecosystem.
Sam Elfarra, TRON DAO’s community spokesperson, emphasized the partnership’s value, saying it gives TRON developers access to “the industry-leading data oracle solution.” By partnering with Chainlink, TRON continues to bolster its DeFi infrastructure, reflecting its commitment to security and the decentralized future.
