Phantom Sui Support Ends September 24

by Ouess Crypto
A high-tech digital graphic with glowing neon elements showing the end of the partnership between Phantom and Sui. On the left, the Phantom 'P' ghost logo is linked to a network. In the center, a broken chain icon transition is to a ticking clock. A prominent display reads 'SUPPORT ENDS SEPTEMBER 24'. And the right, a disconnected plug and a generic chain link icon signal that service is discontinued, with large fractures and glowing sparks indicating a clean break in a dark, data-driven environment.

Phantom Sui support ends on September 24, 2026. Holders have less than five weeks to act.

The decision comes as Sui’s DeFi TVL has cratered 82% from its peak. This reinforces concerns about capital flight from the Layer-1 network.

Why Phantom Sui support ends

Phantom added native Sui network support in late 2024. The rollout came amid Sui’s rapid TVL growth. It climbed to a peak of approximately $2.58 billion in October 2025.

Nevertheless, that growth phase proved short-lived. Sui’s TVL has since fallen to roughly $469 million. This represents an 82% collapse from that peak. The sharp contraction made continued Phantom Sui support less viable.

Coinbase had launched Sui staking services previously. This signaled growing infrastructure commitment. The reversal came just months after that launch.

What users need to know

After September 24, Phantom will no longer display Sui balances. It will also stop supporting Sui transactions. Sui will disappear from the network list.

Importantly, user assets are not lost. They remain on the Sui blockchain. Users can access them via any compatible wallet. They just need the same recovery phrase.

Phantom recommends Slush as the Sui Foundation’s preferred alternative. The wallet has waived its own fee on cross-chain swaps. This applies to native SUI to wrapped SUI on Solana. The waiver lasts until the deadline. Network and exchange fees still apply nevertheless.

What this means for SUI holders

Wallet delisting decisions tend to follow sustained activity declines. Phantom has separately ended support for Monad. This points to a broader strategic cleanup. The wallet now focuses on its highest-traffic networks. These include Solana, Ethereum, Base, and Bitcoin.

For SUI investors, the exit adds near-term access friction. This comes at a moment when the network is already battling reduced activity. Capital outflows are also a concern.

Peter Brandt flagged a potential SUI price recovery earlier this year. The on-chain data since then has complicated that outlook nevertheless. The network’s failure to sustain gains makes this exit a more significant signal.

Sui retains technological strengths

Its Move-based architecture remains strong. The parallel execution model is also notable. Growing institutional product pipelines include ETF exploration in select markets. These remain active narratives nevertheless.

Recovery will depend on new applications and stablecoin growth. Renewed capital inflows could also reverse the TVL trend. This must happen before more infrastructure partners follow Phantom’s lead.

Holders should treat the September 24 deadline as firm. Missing it does not mean funds are lost. It will require importing credentials into a compatible wallet. This is necessary to regain access.
