Odos Protocol shuts down on July 30. The DEX aggregator announced its closure on Thursday.
Users have until the deadline to withdraw assets. The team did not explain the reason for the shutdown.
Why Odos Protocol shuts down
The project posted the announcement on X. It will discontinue operations completely. Users must remove funds before the deadline.
The team did not disclose the reason. No extension was offered for withdrawals. Services will not remain available after July 30.
The Odos DAO operates independently from the company. The DAO will communicate its own plans separately. The ODOS token will continue to exist onchain nevertheless.
No changes to token functionality were announced. No security incident was mentioned. Regulatory issues were not cited. Funding challenges or acquisitions were not mentioned either.
Trading activity declined sharply since late 2024
The shutdown follows a prolonged decline in activity. DefiLlama data shows the trend clearly.

Odos recorded $169 million in July 2026 volume. That compares to a peak of $7.8 billion in December 2024. The protocol generates about $2.72 million in annualized revenue.
Nevertheless, the team did not attribute the shutdown to declining volume. The public announcement remained limited to operational details.
DAO and token remain separate from operating company
The operating business is shutting down. The decentralized governance structure remains distinct.
The Odos DAO will announce its own next steps independently. No timetable was provided for those announcements. The DAO has not disclosed future plans yet.
The ODOS token was not included in the shutdown plans. It will continue to exist onchain. No migration or token swap was announced. No redemption program was mentioned either.
More crypto platforms have announced closures in 2026
Odos joins a growing list of closures this year. BitMEX announced its shutdown earlier on Thursday. The derivatives exchange will cease after 11 years.
Security incidents forced several projects to close. Pyra shut down after the Drift exploit. The company could not find a sustainable path forward.
Carrot protocol also discontinued operations in May. Liquidity providers withdrew significant capital. TVL collapsed despite recovery efforts.
Odos has not linked its decision to these categories. The project did not cite declining activity or market conditions. Security breaches or technical problems were not mentioned either.
The only date provided is July 30. Users must complete withdrawals by then. The team said the DAO will provide separate updates.
