Two months after closing its cryptocurrency wallet, GameStop has announced the discontinuation of its NFT marketplace as well.
In a notice on its website, GameStop informed customers that the NFT marketplace will cease operations from February 2. Citing ongoing regulatory uncertainties in the cryptocurrency space as the reason, the decision aligns with GameStop’s previous move to shut down its crypto wallet.
Launched in July 2022 through a partnership with Immutable X and Loopring, GameStop’s NFT marketplace has a short-lived existence, with customers no longer able to engage in NFT transactions starting February 2, 2024.
The notice reassures users that their NFTs will remain accessible and saleable on other platforms leveraging blockchain technology.
